John Who Lives in the Dark

For the past fifteen years, John Kapellas has been forced to live in a pitch black apartment because of a rare medical disorder which has rendered him sensitive to all forms of light. When a medicine he's prescribed incites an unending series of traumatic flashbacks, a new darkness descends and John turns to drawing circles to save his life. “John Who Lives in the Dark” is a feature film examining one individual's rare disability and their journey to overcome many forms of darkness, one circle at a time.

The project was awarded a Catapult Film Fund Development Grant in 2021 and is currently in production.
