He Opened Up Somewhere Along the Eastern Shore catalogue

Steven and I arrived at his brother Patrick’s house in Rochester, NY, at around 1 a.m. We had been on the road together since early that morning. The snow was falling lightly by now and I asked Steven if we could make two pictures before bed- one by the tree in his brother’s front yard and one directly in front of his brother’s house, on a patch of land that was completely covered in snow. He said, sure, but only after we had a beer and unloaded our gear.
